The general practitioner, pharmacist and hospital can be reached 24 hours a day via the reception at number 9. For urgent matters, you can also reach the reception via this number.

It is possible to use the luggage room at the reception. Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is not liable for loss and / or damage to your property.

It is possible to place an extra bed in a Comfort room (for a fee). You can also have a baby cot placed in all room types. For more information, please contact our reception.

If there are any messages for you, we will notify you by telephone or in writing.

You can rent bathrobes for when you want to use the sauna at our reception. The rental costs are €12.50 per bathrobe and €20.00 deposit.

If guests wish to receive visitors, they should register at the reception for fire/safety reasons.

It is not allowed to receive visitors in your room after 22.00 PM. For all rooms and suites, a maximum of visitors is allowed.

The entire building is equipped with smoke detectors. If you observe a fire somewhere, please follow the following steps:
1 Report the fire.
- Hit the manual call point and call 9 (via your room telephone).
- Tell us: Who you are, what burns, where it burns and whether there are people in danger.
2 Warn people in the area.
3 Extinguish if possible (follow the instructions on the extinguisher) Please note, your own safety comes first!
- Close doors and windows.
5 Do not use an elevator, but use the stairs.
6 Make sure everyone is safe.
- Report at the reception.

At the reception desk, a first aid kit and AED are available.

We have a number of electric and 7-speed bicycles. For questions or to reserve bicycles, please contact the reception or call telephone number 9. You can use the bicycle throughout the day. We ask you to return the keys before midnight and to return the bicycle to the bicycle shed.

You will find a soft drink machine next to the elevator on the ground floor of our hotel.

For lost and found items, please contact our reception.

We look forward to welcoming you in our bar, Birdy's Bar. The opening hours of the bar are: Monday to Saturday: 5pm-1am, Sunday: 5pm -12am

Pets are only allowed in the hotel bar and lobby.

The entire hotel is equipped with free wireless Internet. Use of the wireless internet (WIFI) is free of charge. You connect with the network ‘Hotel Leeuwarden’ and a password will not be needed.

Because of fire safety it is not allowed to burn candles and/or incense in your room.

You will find a safe in the closet in your room. The instructions for use are located on the front of the safe. Do not leave money or other valuables unattended in your room. The management is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.

You will find an extra pillow in the cupboard in your hotel room. More pillows and duvets are available on request. You can contact the reception for this.

If you notice any defects in your room, please contact the reception desk and the problem will be solved as soon as possible.

You will find the “do not disturb” door hanger in your room. If you do not want to be disturbed, hang it on the outside of the door. The housekeeping colleagues will then hang a bag with new towels on your door.

In case of emergency, we request that you contact the reception immediately on the emergency number 9 (via your room telephone). In case of urgent emergencies, you can call 112 directly from the room. All emergency exits are clearly marked and are also indicated on a map at the door of your room. We advise you to inform yourself of the nearest emergency exit.

The breakfast buffet is located in the restaurant.
Monday to Friday 6.30 am - 10.30 am
Saturday and Sunday 7:00 am - 11:00 am

It is also possible to order breakfast in bed. Room service costs of 17.50 euros will be charged for this. You can report this to the reception the evening before.

At the reception desk you can obtain information about public transport in the area.

There is plenty parking around the hotel that you can use free of charge as a hotel guest.

You can receive a free map of Leeuwarden at the reception desk.

If you have mail that you want to send, you can hand it in at the reception. It is also possible to have your mail franked.

We are available 24 hours a day at the reception.
During the night, the reception is manned by a night receptionist. From 23:00 to 06:00 the main entrance will be closed, you can use the intercom next to the entrance.

The restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 11 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 7 AM to 11 PM. In the restaurant you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner during the day. We advise you to book a table through the reception to avoid disappointment.

Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms and public areas. The use of super-smokers or e-cigarettes is also not allowed. Smoking is only allowed outside the hotel. If you smoke on the balcony, you must close the balcony door.

Smoking detected
If it is established that smoking has occurred in the room, a cleaning fee of € 175 will be charged. You must pay this directly at the reception. It is strictly forbidden to disable or affect the operation of the fire detector or any of its parts. Upon detection of this, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without refund of any fees paid.

View the menu here. Room service is not available between 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday to Friday, and between 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Pick up possible.

To order room service or information about pick-up, please contact the front desk by dialing 9 from your hotel room phone. Room service costs 12.50 euros.

When you take the elevator or stairs to the 4th floor at the reception, you will find the sauna on your right-hand side. Bring your room key for the entrance. Towels are provided.

We offer you the possibility to use the shuttle service to the center of Leeuwarden. The shuttle leaves at regular intervals. We charge €5.00 per person per ride for using the shuttle. Ask at the reception about the possibilities

When you take the lift from reception to the 4th floor, you will find the fitness room. Bring your room key for the entrance. Towels are provided here.

If you wish to use an iron and ironing board, you can request them at the reception on number 9. This will be brought to your room.

If you wish to use a taxi, please indicate this at the reception, they will be happy to reserve a taxi for you.

Did you forget your toothbrush or razor? These are available for free at the reception desk.

We kindly ask you to check out before 12 noon.

To increase the safety of our guests and employees, Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is equipped with a fire alarm system. In order to guarantee the proper functioning of this installation, to prevent false reports and unnecessary calls from the fire brigade, it is very important that you take the following into account:

- It is not allowed to smoke in the building. If found, you will be fined with €175,00.
- It is not allowed to use candles and / or incense light in your room.
- It is not allowed to create open fire or set off fireworks.
- It is not allowed to use smoke machines or similar devices.
- It is strictly forbidden to install or parts thereof or disable operation influence it. Upon finding of this you will be immediately removed from the hotel without it refund of any charges / deposit paid.

Please contact the reception and specify your desired wake-up time. It is also possible to set an alarm on your television via the information button. Make sure you leave the television on standby otherwise the alarm will not go off.
