  • AED/first aid

    An AED and first aid kit are available at the reception.

  • Bathrobes/slippers

    Would you like more luxury during your stay? You can rent a lovely soft bathrobe from us. For more information, please contact our reception.

  • Bicycle rental

    Bicycle rental is available. By making an online reservation, you will receive a €5.00 discount per bike. For more prices and availability, please contact the reception.

  • Bicycle storage

    In front of the hotel, we have an open bicycle storage area with charging points for electric bicycles. At the back of the hotel, we have a secure, covered bicycle storage area accessible only to hotel guests with their room key. Here, you can also charge your electric bicycle and store your bicycle rack.

  • Breakfast

    The breakfast buffet is located in the restaurant.
    Monday to Friday: 06:30 A.M. – 10:30 A.M.
    Saturday and Sunday: 7 A.M. – 11 A.M.

    It is also possible to order breakfast in bed, for which room service charges will apply. You can inform our reception the evening before.

  • Check out

    We kindly ask you to check out before 12 P.M. If you wish to stay longer in your room, this is possible based on availability and at an additional extension fee. Different rates and conditions apply for suites and family rooms. Please inquire at the reception for more information.
    As a Valk Loyal guest, you can enjoy a free Lazy Sunday on Sundays, subject to availability.

  • Complaints

    If you have a comment or complaint, please contact the reception. We will always try to resolve your issue immediately. You can also send your comments or recommendations to leeuwarden@valk.nl

  • Cot

    It is possible to reserve a baby cot (0-3 years). A surcharge applies for placing a baby cot in the room. For more information, please contact the reception.

  • Defects

    If you experience any issues in your hotel room, we kindly ask you to report them to the reception. We will address them as soon as possible, where applicable.

  • Do not disturb

    On your room, you will find the 'Do Not Disturb' door hanger. If you do not wish to be disturbed, please hang it on the outside of the door. The housekeeping team will then hang a bag with fresh towels on your door.

  • Emergency/emergency exits

    In case of emergency, we ask that you contact the reception immediately at number 9 (via your room phone). In urgent emergencies, you can dial 112 directly from your room. All emergency exits are clearly marked and are also listed on a map on the door of your room. We advise you to familiarize yourself with the nearest emergency exit.

  • Extra bed

    The addition of an extra bed is possible based on availability, room type, and for an additional fee.

  • Fire safety

    The entire building is equipped with smoke detectors. If you notice a fire, please follow these steps:
    1. Report the fire:
    - Activate the manual alarm and call 9 (via your room phone).
    - Tell us: Who you are, what is burning, where it is burning, and if anyone is in danger.
    2. Warn people in the vicinity.
    3. Extinguish the fire if possible (follow the instructions on the extinguisher). Remember, your own safety comes first!
    4. Close doors and windows.
    5. Do not use the elevator, use the stairs instead.
    6. Check if everyone is safe.
    7. Report to the reception.

  • Fitness

    When you take the elevator to the fourth floor at the reception, you will find the fitness Please bring your room key for entry. Towels are available here. View our fitness here.

  • Green Choice/Orange Choice

    Your hotel room is cleaned daily as standard during your stay. However, by choosing 'Green Choice,' you directly contribute to a better environment. Every time a guest opts to skip room cleaning, a tree is planted in Scotland. With 'Orange Choice,' we plant half a tree. This is part of the Valk Exclusief-wide Trees4Next program.

  • Hairdryer

    A hairdryer can be found in the bathroom.

  • Hotel bar

    We warmly welcome you to our bar, Birdy’s Bar, located opposite the reception. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere, drinks, and delicious snacks during our extended opening hours. We look forward to welcoming you!

  • Internet

    Need to check your email or update your social media? You can use free wireless internet throughout the hotel. You can connect to the wireless network 'Hotel Leeuwarden' anywhere in the hotel with your phone, tablet, laptop, or other mobile devices. No access code or password is required.

  • Iron/ironing board

    If you wish to use an iron and ironing board, you can request them at the reception by dialing 9. They will be brought to your room.

  • Laundry/dry cleaning

    A laundry bag can be found in the closet of your room. Please fill in the details on the laundry bag and drop it off at the reception.

  • Liability

    Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden cannot be held liable for lost items from the hotel room, meeting room, or public areas (including the cloakroom and lockers).

  • Lost and found

    For lost or found items, please contact our reception.

  • Luggage storage

    You can use the luggage storage at the reception. Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is not responsible for the loss and/or damage of your belongings.

  • Mail

    If you have mail that you wish to send, you can drop it off at the reception. We also offer the service to frank your mail; please note that there are charges for this. If your mail already has a stamp, you can simply drop it off at the reception.

  • Map

    At the reception, you can receive a free map of Leeuwarden.

  • Meeting rooms

    Do you have a meeting, conference, exhibition, or wedding planned? Inquire about the options with our Sales department or visit our website.

  • Messages

    If there are any messages for you, we will inform you here either by phone or in writing. For guest messages, please drop them off at the reception or call us at 9, and we will ensure the proper delivery to the guest.

  • Parking

  • Payments

    We accept the following payment methods:

    When booking a room, we will hold it for you until 6 P.M. You have two options to confirm your reservation: you can prepay via the payment link sent a few days before the booking, or you can make a credit card authorization to ensure the room is guaranteed for your stay.

    If you would like to book a package, the FLEX24 terms and conditions apply. This means that you need to prepay your package 24 hours in advance, and cancellations are only possible up to 24 hours before the start, unlike the previous option where cancellations were allowed until 6 P.M. on the day itself.

  • Pharmacy/doctor

    The doctor, pharmacist, and hospital are available 24 hours a day through the reception at number 9. For emergencies, you can also reach the reception via this number.

  • Pets

    Pets are not allowed in the hotel, but they are welcome in our lobby and hotel bar. If pets are found in the room, a cleaning fee of €75,- will be charged. However, we are happy to make an exception for guide dogs and service dogs, who are most welcome.

  • Phone

  • Pillows/blankets

    An extra pillow can be found in the wardrobe in your hotel room. Additional pillows and duvets are available upon request. Please contact the reception for this.

  • Public transport

    At the reception, you can obtain information about public transport in the area or visit this website.

  • Reception

    At the reception, we are available 24 hours a day. During the night, the reception is staffed by a night receptionist. From 11 P.M. to 6 A.M., the main entrance will be closed, but you can use the intercom next to the entrance.

  • Restaurant

    The restaurant is open Monday to Friday from 06:30 A.M. to 11 P.M., and on Saturday and Sunday from 7 A.M. to 11 P.M.. In the restaurant, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout the day. We recommend reserving a table via the reception to avoid disappointment.

  • Room service

    Room service is not available between 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. on Monday to Friday, and between 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday. Takeout may be possible.
    To order room service or get information about takeout, please contact the reception by dialing 9 from the phone in your hotel room. Room service charges will apply.

  • Safe

    In the wardrobe in your room, you will find a safe. The instructions for use are located on the front of the safe. Please do not leave money or other valuable items unattended in your room. The management is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal belongings.

  • Safety

    For the safety of our guests and staff, Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is equipped with a fire alarm system. To ensure its proper functioning, prevent false alarms, and avoid unnecessary fire department call-outs, please take note of the following:
    - Smoking is not allowed inside the building. If detected, a fine of €175.00 will be imposed.
    - The use of candles and/or incense in your room is not permitted.
    - Creating open flames or lighting fireworks is strictly prohibited.
    - The use of smoke machines or similar devices is not allowed.
    - Tampering with or disabling the fire alarm system or any of its components is strictly forbidden. If detected, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without any refund of paid costs or deposit.

  • Smoking

    Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden is a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is not allowed in the rooms or in public areas. The use of super-smokers or e-cigarettes is also prohibited. Smoking is only allowed outside the hotel. If you smoke on the balcony, please make sure to close the balcony door.

  • Smoking detected

    If it is found that smoking has occurred in the room, a cleaning fee of €175,- will be charged. This must be paid immediately at the reception. It is strictly prohibited to disable or interfere with the functioning of the smoke detector or any of its components. If this is found, you will be immediately removed from the hotel without a refund of any paid fees.

  • Taxi

    If you require a taxi, please inform the reception. They will be happy to arrange one for you.

  • Toiletries

    Forgot your toothbrush or razor? These are available for free at the reception.

  • Tourist information

    You can perfectly combine your stay at Van der Valk Hotel Leeuwarden with a visit to the Frisian capital, Leeuwarden. Feel free to ask the reception for a city map of Leeuwarden or more information about the surroundings. You can also visit this website.

  • Vending machine

    You will find a soft drink vending machine next to the elevator on the ground floor of our hotel.

  • Visitors

    If you wish to receive visitors, they must check in at the reception for registration due to fire safety regulations. It is not allowed to receive visitors in your room after 10 P.M. There is a maximum number of guests allowed for all rooms and suites.

  • Wake-up service

    Please contact the reception and provide your desired wake-up time. You can also set an alarm on your television using the information button. Please note: the television must remain on standby; otherwise, the alarm will not go off.

  • Wellness

    Ready to unwind and do absolutely nothing? Relax in our wellness area. Unlimited access for our hotel guests.
