In the Prinsentuin, the beautiful city park on the edge of the city center of Leeuwarden, there is a small museum and a temple dedicated to the Frisian sculptor Pier Pander (1864-1919), a sailor boy from Drachten, who became one of the most important artists of his time and spent most of his life in Rome.
